As more universities open satellite campuses to reach students far from home, Texas Tech University took the idea international — establishing a campus more than 2,000 miles from its home in Lubbock, Texas. Education Design International was involved from the start, helping to plan, program, and ultimately design the facilities in San José, Costa Rica.
The result of years of collaboration is a purpose-built campus set within a thriving mixed-use development — a place to live, shop, work, and play, with the university adding a place to learn. Inside, a central gathering stair, informal learning lounges, and flexible commons give students room to study, meet, and connect between classes.
The campus offers undergraduate degrees across business and the sciences — including management, retail, mathematics, computer science, and industrial and electrical engineering — bringing Texas Tech’s programs to a new generation of students in Central America.
