The Project

A flagship school for a new city.

Education Design International’s USA, Israel, and Asia teams joined forces to design a brand-new, state-of-the-art high school for Harish — one of Israel’s newest and fastest-growing cities. EDI led the master planning and architectural design for a school intended to be among the most innovative in the country.

Rather than a corridor of uniform rooms, the school is organized into several themed learning communities, each a distinct setting with its own character and mix of spaces. Open commons, flexible learning areas, and breakout lounges connect the communities and give students room to gather, collaborate, and work in different ways across the day.

The result is a personalized, relevant education set in a building designed to match — a flagship for Harish, and a model whose ideas can carry to other schools as the young city continues to grow.
