Louis is a visionary architect with over twelve years of international experience designing dynamic, future-forward educational environments that empower students and communities. With a passion for creative problem-solving, he embodies essential 21st-century skills: critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and adaptability. Louis believes that architecture is a tool for transformation, where thoughtful design creates opportunities for learning, connection, and innovation. His designs prioritize adaptability, sustainability, and engaging spaces that foster creativity and lifelong learning.
Driven by a philosophy that great architecture is both rooted in context and forward-thinking, Louis works closely with schools to craft environments that reflect their unique aspirations and educational goals. From master planning to construction, his approach emphasizes collaboration and deep engagement to deliver spaces that are as functional as they are inspirational.
His extensive portfolio includes projects such as Beijing No1 Experimental School, The Learning Campus in Tianjin, Strathcona Tweedsmuir School in Alberta, Sherman Inspire Academy, Finland Global School, Sankore International School, and the visionary NEOM education initiative. Each project showcases his ability to blend innovative design strategies with a deep understanding of local vernacular, ensuring that spaces are both meaningful and adaptable to evolving pedagogical needs. Louis has also keynoted domestic and international conferences, presenting cutting-edge white papers on school design and the psychology of learning environments. His work across 20 countries has further expanded his global perspective, allowing him to integrate diverse architectural approaches and educational philosophies into his designs.
Louis’s background also includes research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he contributed to energy efficiency solutions for campus buildings, and experience in residential architecture. A licensed architect in multiple U.S. states, he holds a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor in Environmental Design from North Dakota State University.
A lifelong outdoor enthusiast, Louis finds inspiration in trail running and competitive Nordic skiing. This love for the natural world informs his commitment to designing spaces that connect people to their environments and promote well-being.
