Roni represents a new generation of visionary young architects who understand the profound ways in which the built environment impacts student learning outcomes

Roni Zimmer Doctori has over 17 years of professional architectural and project management experience. She has served as an Architect and Design Team Leader at AlefBet Planners in Israel since 2007. Prior to joining EDI, Roni served as a consulting Principal Architect with Fielding Nair International. She is a co-author of the new and highly acclaimed book on school design titled, “Learning by Design: Live | Play | Engage | Create.

She has lectured, conducted workshops, presented keynote conference talks and delivered a full day Masterclass on school design in different parts of the world including Australia and Canada.

Her portfolio of educational work includes various schools throughout Israel. For the past three years, Roni has collaborated on innovative educational projects including the nationally renowned GOGYA Teacher Training Academy developed by the AMIT Network of schools. During this time, she has traveled to/worked on projects in Australia, Canada, India, Romania, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Timor Leste and the United States.

Roni has extensive knowledge of and experience working on a variety of projects including public buildings, welfare and community buildings, tourism and leisure complexes, neighborhoods and residential buildings, industrial and office buildings.

Roni graduated with honors from the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning, Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, in Haifa.

Roni’s commitment to education is inspired by the schooling experience of her own children. She represents a new generation of visionary young architects who understand the profound ways in which the built environment impacts student learning outcomes.

She believes passionately that there is an urgent imperative for education change in Israel and throughout the world so that students are better prepared for a very different future than anything we have seen before. Towards this goal, Roni has been working closely with EDI’s President Prakash Nair and other senior managers at the Company to explore a wide range of effective education solutions. These include not just new ways to design school buildings but also methods to introduce and implement highly innovative, student-centered curriculums and the latest technology tools in new and renovated schools.
