Rebecca Keel

Senior Education Consultant

Rebecca Keel is a New Orleans based Senior Education Consultant with Education Design International. Rebecca’s passion is to create space – physical and interpersonal – in communities, schools, and organizations that inspire the better humanity in each of us. She is an interior designer, educator and diversity consultant with over 20 years of experience.

Earlier in her career, Rebecca was a Social Studies teacher for ten years, working in classrooms in rural North Carolina and New York City. While in NYC, she was as a founding staff member of a small high school in Brooklyn and served as an administrator across NYC schools, coaching school leaders and teachers. Currently, Rebecca facilitates anti-bias trainings for schools, hospitals, community organizations and law enforcement for the Anti-Defamation League, Holocaust education programs with Echoes & Reflections, and coordinates a nationwide education program for the USC Shoah Foundation.

Rebecca’s work with EDI centers around her capacity to work directly with educators, supporting the analysis of their use of space within the context of their curriculum. She fosters dialogue and pushes her educators’ thinking of what educational space can look like in the 21st century through the thoughtful integration of space and pedagogy.

Rebecca holds a BA in Sociology from the University of North Carolina Asheville, focusing on the intersection of race and poverty, a MSEd in School Leadership from Baruch College, and a MS in Interior Design from Pratt Institute, with a focus on K-12 school architecture.
