Vega School
A playful primary school in Gurugram for 500 children up to Grade 5 — two cylindrical buildings of pastel-toned learning pods, planned around movement, collaboration, and discovery.
A primary school, round in plan and spirit.

Two cylinders, built around play and movement.
Vega School was conceived as a contemporary primary school where playful architecture and learner-centred design go together. Built for children up to Grade 5, the campus steps away from conventional school planning, using its spaces to encourage creativity, collaboration, and active exploration through the day.
EDI organised the school as two distinctive cylindrical buildings joined by shared circulation cores — a strong, memorable identity that mirrors the energy and imagination of young learners. Inside each, learning pods replace traditional classrooms, combining open teaching areas, activity spaces, and collaborative areas for teachers into interconnected learning communities that support different ways of teaching and learning. Flexible furniture, adaptable layouts, and calming pastel colours keep the rooms focused while staying playful.
Performance is built in alongside the play. High-performance glazing, insulated wall panels, thermally efficient roofing, and tensile shade structures cut heat gain and keep the rooms comfortable through the year. Completed in 2015, Vega brings architecture and play together so that movement, interaction, and hands-on learning shape the everyday experience of school.
