Vallistus International School — K–12 · Interior Design in Whitefield, Bengaluru, India designed by Education Design International.
The Project

A nature-inspired environment for curiosity and creativity.

Vallistus International School was envisioned as a contemporary learning environment where every space supports exploration, collaboration, and student wellbeing. Inspired by Bengaluru’s identity as the Garden City, the design draws on the theme of nature to create an engaging and immersive educational setting that encourages children to connect with their surroundings while fostering imagination, innovation, and discovery.

EDI developed a learning environment centred around flexible, age-appropriate spaces that respond to diverse pedagogical needs across early years, primary, secondary, and senior school. Learning studios, commons, specialist laboratories, maker spaces, art and performance areas, and collaborative hubs were carefully planned to support a wide range of learning modalities while promoting interaction beyond the traditional classroom. The interiors incorporate natural materials, calming colour palettes, intuitive wayfinding, and adaptable furniture to create environments that are functional, engaging, and easy to maintain.

The design places equal emphasis on academic, social, and emotional development through sensory play areas, learning commons, indoor and outdoor activity spaces, and community-focused environments that encourage collaboration and independent exploration. The result is a future-ready school that translates the school’s educational vision into a vibrant learning ecosystem where students are inspired to imagine, innovate, and thrive.
