The Charter School
An inclusive CBSE campus in Kochi with a bold, minimalist design — large façade openings, indoor-outdoor learning decks, and a distinctive boat-shaped roof that opens the school to light and landscape.
A campus of clean lines and open decks.

A minimalist campus, open to light and landscape.
The Charter School in Kochi pairs inclusive education with a bold, contemporary minimalist design. EDI gave the campus a strong sense of visual openness — large façade openings, connected indoor-outdoor learning decks, and semi-covered terraces that double as viewing galleries over the sports fields — so the building feels open to its surroundings on every side.
Its architecture is shaped as much by climate as by character. A distinctive boat-shaped sloped roof, linear shading devices, and green screen walls work together to respond to Kochi’s heat and light, while clean lines and horizontal shading give the campus a broad, modern aesthetic. The result reads as calm and contemporary rather than busy.
Inside, the plan is built for collaboration. Communal learning zones, studios, and flexible common areas give students room to work together and create, and the Global Learning Centre anchors the campus with a striking façade that is as functional as it is visual — a place where the architecture itself supports the way students learn.
