Sherman Inspire Academy

Education Design International led the educational visioning and design of Sherman Inspire Academy — from concept design through schematic design and design development. Sherman Inspire Academy was envisioned as a future-focused STEM learning environment designed to prepare students for careers in science, technology, engineering, and innovation through highly engaging and hands-on educational experiences. As a second project completed with this client, the campus reflects the continued expansion of Inspire Academies’ educational reach and long-term vision for innovative public charter education.

Located on a compact and narrow 10-acre site, the project required careful planning and efficient organization of academic, outdoor, circulation, and community spaces to maximize functionality while maintaining a strong student experience. The planning process explored how Learning Communities, interdisciplinary labs, makerspaces, and collaborative commons could support inquiry-driven instruction and real-world problem solving across multiple grade levels.

The campus framework emphasized adaptability, student agency, and strong connections between academic, social, and outdoor environments. Innovation hubs, project-based learning spaces, collaborative gathering areas, and flexible instructional settings were integrated throughout the design to support evolving pedagogical practices and encourage creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking. The resulting vision creates a dynamic educational ecosystem aligned with Sherman Inspire Academy’s mission of empowering students through STEM education, leadership development, and future-ready learning experiences.
