Safa Community School set out to be a new British school that would stand out in Dubai, and EDI was appointed for its master planning and design. The campus sits on a prominent site at the edge of Umm Suqeim Road, visible from several sides — and its building form makes the most of that exposure, presenting a strong public frontage while opening onto views of the nearby Miracle Garden, where the main sports and performing-arts zones sit.
The plan is organised to bring the outdoors into everyday teaching. Spaces are arranged for natural light and cross-ventilation, and expansive decks and shaded courtyards extend lessons beyond four walls, giving teaching areas direct connections to the open air. Each academic block has its own year-specific entry points, keeping circulation smooth and congestion low as 2,000 students move through the day.
At the centre sits the Global Learning Centre, drawing the school’s shared facilities — theatre, indoor sports, cafetorium, and media resource centre — into one accessible heart for students, staff, and parents alike. Built around student-centred planning, an easy indoor-outdoor flow, and sustainable design, Safa Community School makes its co-curricular life as central as its teaching spaces.
