A boarding 'School of the Future' on NEOM's Gulf of Aqaba.

A STEM boarding campus, conceived as an educational village.
NEOM STEM School Campus is a ‘School of the Future’ boarding concept set within NEOM’s Gulf of Aqaba (Magna) region in Saudi Arabia. EDI, partnering with Bowie Gridley Architects, developed the campus master plan, concept design, and schematic design — shaping a STEM-driven environment built around inquiry, project-based learning, and the emerging industries at the heart of NEOM’s innovation agenda.
The plan organizes academics, residential life, wellness, athletics, and the arts into a unified educational village embedded in the dramatic desert landscape of the Gulf of Aqaba. Learning Communities, innovation labs, makerspaces, research environments, and project studios let students move fluidly between disciplines, while dormitories, faculty residences, athletics, and outdoor experiential zones gather around a central academic spine that builds a strong sense of community.
Environmental stewardship is foundational to the concept. The campus explores advanced net-zero strategies — renewable energy, passive cooling, water reclamation, shaded outdoor circulation, high-performance façades, and native landscape — so the desert environment itself becomes part of daily learning. The result is a global prototype for future-ready education within one of the world’s most ambitious developments.
