Meadowlark School
A LEED Platinum, student-led K-8 learning community in Boulder Valley — built around flexible, interdisciplinary spaces and a shared model of co-teaching.
A student-led learning community, built to the highest sustainable standard.

A school designed for student-led learning.
Meadowlark School is designed as a dynamic, student-led learning community where innovation, collaboration, and engagement drive education. Built on the principles of flexibility and connection, the school fosters meaningful learning experiences tailored to diverse student needs. Traditional learning spaces give way to adaptable, open environments that encourage fluid student groupings and interdisciplinary exploration. Education Design International served as Master Planner, Architect, and Interior Designer for the project.
At the heart of the design is a shared teacher collaboration space, where educators work side by side — exchanging ideas, refining instructional strategies, and supporting one another. This intentional co-teaching model nurtures cross-disciplinary learning, professional growth, and a deep sense of community among both students and faculty. Every space, indoors and out, is crafted to inspire curiosity, interaction, and discovery, and the building is certified LEED Platinum.
