Macris School
A facilities master plan for a Catholic bilingual school in Tegucigalpa — reimagining the campus as a future-ready learning environment rooted in academic excellence, spiritual development, and whole-child growth.
A campus reimagined for academic excellence and whole-child growth.

A master plan for a future-ready Catholic bilingual campus.
Education Design International led the educational visioning and campus master planning for Macris School. The Macris School Facilities Master Plan reimagines the campus as a future-ready Catholic bilingual learning environment rooted in academic excellence, spiritual development, and whole-child growth. The plan supports Macris’ vision for students to become “Winged Lions,” developing the values, confidence, and human capacities needed to pursue their passions and become leaders of positive change.
The master plan expands the school’s capacity from 924 to a target enrollment of 1,152 students while strengthening the organization of elementary, high school, administration, chapel, learning center, athletics, outdoor learning, and community spaces. Proposed improvements include new and renovated academic environments, a welcome center, chapel, indoor gymnasium, cafeteria, amphitheater, outdoor learning areas, play courts, and improved parking.
Designed around inquiry-based learning, collaboration, multilingualism, STEAM, wellbeing, and cultural identity, the campus creates a more flexible and connected student experience. Learning communities, adaptable classrooms, project-based learning areas, and social spaces support multiple learning modalities while helping teachers collaborate and students take greater ownership of their learning.
