La Petite-Montessori
A Montessori early-years centre in New Delhi for children aged two to six — calm, daylit rooms in timber and soft white, with active and quiet zones arranged to let each child explore at their own pace.
An early-years centre, tuned for calm and focus.

A Montessori centre with a quiet, homelike calm.
La Petite-Montessori was designed around the Montessori idea that young children learn best when they can explore, discover, and move at their own pace. For children between two and six, EDI created flexible rooms that support self-directed work, small-group collaboration, and individual expression, all within one calm, welcoming centre.
The plan balances active and quiet zones, so reading, creative work, collaboration, and focused study each have a place without crowding one another. A restrained palette — timber, soft white, and muted pastel accents — gives the centre a warm, almost residential feel, while varied textures and tactile surfaces invite the hands-on, sensory exploration at the heart of Montessori learning.
Comfort is built in. Natural daylight, good thermal performance, and environmentally responsive detailing support concentration and wellbeing, and acoustics are handled quietly through soft flooring, wall treatments, and perforated ceilings that keep the rooms settled for children and teachers alike. Completed in 2018, La Petite-Montessori lets the architecture work in step with the Montessori method.
