The International School of Azerbaijan
A transformation of a twenty-year-old campus in Baku — corridor-based planning replaced by connected learning communities, and a central axis that gathers the entrance, library, and café into the heart of the school.
A twenty-year-old campus reorganised around a single connecting axis.

A traditional campus, remade as a connected community.
The International School of Azerbaijan reworked a twenty-year-old campus to match its vision of engaging and empowering every learner. Corridor-based planning gave way to connected learning communities built for collaboration, creativity, and student-centred work.
A clearly defined central axis sets up a welcoming arrival and links the key shared spaces, drawing the entrance, library, café, and learning environments together. This becomes the heart of the campus, where children, teachers, and visitors meet and a strong sense of belonging takes hold.
The former layout of separate teaching rooms was reworked into flexible learning neighbourhoods that hold a range of teaching approaches. Open, adaptable spaces support collaboration and project work, while clearer indoor-outdoor links carry learning into the landscaped spaces around the buildings.
