The Project

A master plan for an integrated, future-focused campus.

Education Design International led the campus master planning and schematic design for Excel Christian Academy. Developed through an extensive discovery and visioning process, the Facilities Master Plan reimagines the campus as a future-focused Christian educational ecosystem — strengthening authentic learning, community connection, student agency, and holistic development through flexible, engaging environments that align the school’s Christian mission with inquiry-based, interdisciplinary, and contemporary teaching practices.

Through phased renovations and new construction, the plan transforms existing facilities into a more dynamic, student-centered campus. Central to the vision is an “Integrated Educational Ecosystem,” in which academic spaces, community functions, athletics, spiritual life, and social environments work together as one unified learning experience rather than isolated departments or classrooms.

The plan introduced Learning Communities, collaborative commons, seminar and breakout rooms, interdisciplinary and maker spaces, performance and reflection areas, improved athletics, and outdoor learning — with stronger ties to community and church programming. Detailed design studies for a new Athletic Center and High School wing maximize the existing campus footprint through creative reorganization of academic and shared-use spaces.
