Curious School
A small K-12 campus in Bangalore for 120 students — a daylit building under a perforated roof, with split-level floors that keep sightlines open and an outdoor edge of gardens, sand play, and storytelling.
A small campus, rich in things to notice.

A small school, built around a perforated roof.
Curious School is a small Bangalore campus built around the idea that a building can invite exploration. EDI designed the arrival under a distinctive perforated roof that pulls daylight and natural ventilation into the entrance, setting the tone the moment a child walks in.
Inside, alternating split-level floors keep different parts of the school in view of one another, encouraging movement and a constant awareness of what is happening nearby. Bold colour, playful detailing, and flexible rooms let the spaces carry a range of activities through the day, from quiet work to group play.
Learning spills outdoors, too. Vegetable gardens, storytelling areas, sensory pathways, musical walls, and sand-play spaces turn the grounds into part of the curriculum, knitting architecture, landscape, and play into a single campus for 120 students. Completed in 2018, Curious School is small in footprint but deliberately rich in things to notice.
