American Embassy School
EDI was charged with redesigning the AES campus. AES is a premier beacon of international education that empowers students to thrive as culturally adept global citizens — the redesign translates that mission into learning environments matched to it.
A campus reimagined for student-centered learning.

Breaking away from cells and bells.
The American Embassy School (AES) has embarked on a bold, large-scale campus renovation aimed at redefining educational spaces and fostering a more dynamic, student-centered learning experience. Implemented over successive summer breaks, this transformation was inspired by the overwhelming success of a Pathfinder Project — a proof of concept that received widespread acclaim from students, educators, and parents alike.
Breaking away from the traditional ‘cells and bells’ model of double-loaded corridors, the new campus design introduces a diverse range of adaptable spaces that support varied learning styles and activities. The reimagined environment nurtures curiosity, agency, and engagement.
A strong emphasis on biophilic design ensures that nature seamlessly integrates into the learning experience. Carefully selected materials, organic patterns, and thoughtful spatial planning create an inviting, inspiring atmosphere where students feel connected to both their environment and their education.
