A whole new mixed-use campus in Muscat for Al Sahwa Schools and a Leadership Academy — explored through two designs: one rooted in timeless Islamic architecture, one a modern interpretation of the same tradition.

One campus, two interpretations of a single tradition.
Al Sahwa Schools acquired a new site to develop a whole new campus — one that brings together a K-12 school, a Leadership Academy, on-site housing, and commercial uses on a single site in Muscat. Education Design International responded to the brief with a complete campus design, working out how these distinct programs share one place.
At the client’s request, EDI developed two parallel design directions for the campus. One stays close to the traditional, timeless Islamic architecture of the region; the other offers a modern interpretation of the same Islamic style. The renderings shown here present both — a single campus imagined twice, from a shared cultural starting point.
