Biography

Designing 21st-century learning communities across Asia — where pedagogy and sustainability meet in the built form.

Mugdha works as a Team Lead, managing a team of architects and interior designers and based at EDI’s Bangalore studio. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a green building consultant for a reputed practice, conducting audits, feasibility studies, and implementation of cost-efficient green building strategies.

She began her design career in California, USA, with an architectural practice that specializes in sustainable architecture, where she was exposed to the green building industry and developed a deep understanding of — and liking for — the field. More recently, she has developed a passion for educational environments by closely following best practices in education and design.

Continued research into pedagogy, learning outcomes, and educational efficiency has sparked her to design creative 21st-century learning communities for many private educational facilities in Asia.

Mugdha holds a Master’s in Architecture from the University of Colorado, Denver, and a Bachelor’s in Architecture from the University of Pune, India. She has worked on several LEED-certified buildings and is a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED-AP).

She has successfully delivered prestigious nationally and internationally acclaimed projects including the American School of Bombay in Mumbai, Oakridge International School in Bangalore, Deutsche Schule Bombay (DSB International German School) in Mumbai, Al-Batinah International School in Oman, and Safa Community School in Dubai, among several others.

Her ability to synchronize with the client community and their needs gives her the edge to custom-design innovative solutions that best suit innovative teaching and learning practices.
