Shaping India's schools — for the next generation of learners.
From our Bangalore studio, EDI India brings fifteen years of architectural, planning, and educational design practice to the schools and institutions reimagining how the country learns.
A studio with deep roots in India's educational ambition.
Education Design International's India office, which celebrated its 15-year anniversary in 2025, has become a vital part of EDI's global practice and its work in transforming education through design. From our Bangalore studio, the team brings together architects, planners, educators, and researchers under one roof.
Led by Managing Director Bipin Bhadran, the office has earned wide recognition for innovation and excellence — including being named Best Education Architect in India. Our practice is shaped by a single commitment: that every school we design should reflect the aspirations of the children, educators, and communities it serves.
EDI India's work spans the country's most highly regarded schools and institutions — international, national, and emerging — and increasingly informs how India's National Education Policy is translated into the physical reality of learning environments.
Bipin Bhadran
Bipin leads EDI India from our Bangalore studio. Under his stewardship the office has grown into one of the country's most respected practices dedicated to educational architecture, working alongside school leaders, founders, and boards to bring transformative learning environments to life from first sketch to opening day.
Trusted by some of India's most respected schools and campuses.
Over the years, EDI India has worked with international schools, national leaders in K-12, and emerging higher-education campuses — projects that, taken together, trace the changing shape of education in India.
A practice that reflects India's vision for holistic, learner-centered education.
EDI India's practice reflects a deep understanding of India's educational aspirations, and closely aligns with the vision of the National Education Policy — particularly its emphasis on holistic, learner-centered, and future-ready education.
This alignment was further codified in the Indian edition of A New Language of School Design, published in 2025. The book reinforces EDI India's role in advancing school environments that are architecturally strong, educationally purposeful, and responsive to the needs of children, educators, and communities.
Partnered with India's leading education organizations.
EDI India has established strong working relationships with many of the country's leading national education-focused organizations — collaborating on research, convenings, publications, and the broader conversation about the future of schooling.
