There are days when I feel like two people living inside one skin. In one moment I want to stretch my boundaries, to learn, to explore, to achieve, and to taste every shade of life. In the very next I long for quiet, for stillness, for the silence of simply being.

I find myself suspended between them, never fully immersed in worldly pursuits, never completely surrendered to inner peace. At times this unsettles me. And yet, almost in the same breath, I feel grateful to touch both the vastness of life and the quiet of the soul.

Information. Awareness. Alignment.

I have begun to think of this inner journey in three stages:

Living with Contradiction

Perhaps this is what it means to be human. To live with contradiction and not run away from it. To be a seeker who also values stillness. The tension may never disappear. But maybe that is not the point. The point is to live with it honestly and to let it become a source of strength.

An Education Lens

The three stages — information, awareness, and alignment — are not only part of an inner journey. They also describe the way children grow and learn. Information is what schools have traditionally emphasized. Awareness begins when children are helped to notice how they respond to that information. Alignment is where real empowerment lies — when children begin making choices that match their awareness.

Most education systems remain caught in stage one. Some are moving into stage two. The true transformation of schooling will happen when we design environments and cultures that allow children to reach stage three. Only then do we nurture not just achievers, but self-aware human beings who can thrive both inwardly and outwardly.
